This web site provides some general information about the history of Woodcote and in particular information about the Graves, Churches and the War Memorial to help in the research of family trees.
Set on the edge of the Chilterns in South Oxfordshire midway between Reading and Oxford, this once ancient settlement surronded by beech woods has developed over recent years into a busy up-to-date village with schools and shops. There are several listed buildings and an 18th century Manor, now part of the Oratory School, also a Victorian flint church that retains some of its Norman origins. There are two public houses and many countryside and woodland walks. The top of the village is one of the highest points in the Chiltern Hills. The village is best known for its long running annual traction rally.
