There were two giants cut onto Plymouth Hoe on the steep part near Goemagots leap. References to the maintenance of the giant have been made and generally they are well documented. The first giant was around 1460 and the second probably around 1566 although before 1602. The second figure was called Corineus the first Goemagot, legend has it that Corineus the King of Cornwall fought Goemagot and threw him into the sea. The figures were lost sometime after 1671.
